International conference - Ambleside, 17th -19th Sept.

International scholars, artists and curators speaking on the work of Kurt Schwitters, the Merzbarn project and its critical legacy. The conference began with a one day visit to the artists' ArtBarns research projects in the Forest of Bowland (Thursday 16th Sept.). Conference venues at Ambleside and Langdale, Cumbria. A visit to the original Merzbarn site at Langdale is proposed for Friday 17th. Sept.

Contributors included: Fred Brookes, Dr. Stephen Foster (Dada Archive, University of Iowa); Gwendolen Webster (Aachen), Dr. Klaus Hinrichsen, Dr. Karin Orchard (Schwitters Archiv, Hannover); Klaus StadtmŸller (Volks-wagenstiftung, Hannover), and Dr. Sarah Wilson, Courtauld Institute of Art.
